3 Interesting Nobel Prize Facts
Text Version:
– The average age of a Nobel Peace prize recipient is 62 years old. The oldest recipient was Joseph Rotblat, he was 87 years old when he received his Nobel Peace prize for his worldwide campaign to eliminate nuclear weapons.
– Mahatma Gandhi surprisingly never won a Nobel Peace prize, despite being nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947, and 1948 (just before he was killed in January 1948). Even though he was not awarded the prize in 1948, the committee decided that no award would be given out that year on the grounds that “there was no suitable LIVING candidate”.
– The back of a Nobel Peace Prize has three naked men holding hands.

Unless I’m mistaken, the end of the first fact is wrong. The oldest receiver of a Nobel Prize was Raymond Davis Jr., born 14 October 1914, who was awarded the Physics Nobel Prize in 2002, at the age of 88: http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/2002/davis.html
