  • You might be interested in check out Carolyn Wyman’s “The Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book” where she did further research into the story of the cookie’s invention. From pg 25:

“Chalk up this myth’s persistence to a lack of good information but also modern Americans’ love for the dumb-luck story. That Ruth Wakefield invented the chocolate chip cookie by dint of training, talent, hard work, and mind-expanding world travel made possible because she was already well on the way to earning her first half-million may not be as appealing a story to people who dream of lucking into the latest Lotto jackpot, Post-it Note invention, or YouTube viral craze. But it is the true one.”
